In this 2008 highlight film of offensive tackle Zach West, the Lexington Christian standout shows his quickness for a big offensive lineman. As a sophomore he punished defensive ends in the run game and drove rushing players out of the play. At 6’5” 305lbs, West isn’t rated nationally but has a good number of scholarship offers from top schools in the Kentucky area. Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, Penn State and Tennessee have all offered. He hasn’t shortened his list beyond these five while his family has often attended Kentucky which would make the Wildcats a comfortable selection.

In this highlight video from Scouting Ohio, Doran Grant showcases his quickness in the wide receiver position and his hard hitting ability when playing in the defensive backfield. His great speed allows him to outrun defenders and catch up to offensive players in this 2009 highlight film when he was a junior. Rivals.com rates him the #1 cornerback in the country for 2011. At 5’10” and 175lbs, Grant has decent timed runs but really shows his speed on the field. He currently has scholarship offers from many of the top programs in the mid-west. Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State have all offered. He walked away with the defensive backs MVP award and the SPARC award at the PA Nike Camp recently.

Dee Hart from Dr Philips High School in Orlando Florida shows his running and cut back ability from the line of scrimmage and also in the return game in this highlight video. The 5’9” all-purpose back has great speed in the open field. He is a 4 star recruit and the second best running back in the country for 2011 according to Rivals.com. He has his selection of schools and currently favors Alabama, Michigan and Auburn. He also holds scholarship offers from Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State and many others. He has the ability to catch a pass out of the backfield, has great vision, and the skill to quickly change direction. He would be great in a spread offense at the next level.

Dwyer Panthers senior tight end prospect Nick O’Leary was featured in a 2009 program introduction. In this video O’Leary #34 demonstrates his ability to make a difficult catch coming off the line and shows good pass blocking ability. A number of players from the team last year secured Division 1 scholarships including Matt Elam, Gerald Christian, and Robert Clark. O’Leary is considered the 2nd best tight end in the country for 2011 and has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. He will make a college selection after this upcoming season.

In this very well produced highlight video from Gridiron Glory, Allan Wasonga demonstrates his play making ability and great speed. Rated the #1 prospect in West Virginia and the 23rd best running back in the country by Rivals.com, Wasonga has offers from top notch schools such as Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and West Virginia. At 5’8” and 196 lbs, he might be considered small for a Big Ten tailback but the Big East is looking at Wasonga as an incredible play maker in their wide open offenses. Yet, if Penn State offers after an early August weekend visit they will be the team to beat it seems.

Trey DePriest, a four star outside linebacker prospect from Springfield Ohio might be ready to make a college selection after a recent visit to Alabama. Florida State, Ohio State, and LSU are also under consideration although visits to Florida State and Ohio State have been cancelled most recently. In this highlight film from Scouting Ohio, as a sophomore DePriest demonstrates why he is considered to be the 6th best outside linebacker in the country for the 2011 class.

Maurice Clarett Returns to Ohio State

Many today only remember all the trouble that Maurice Clarett got into after his Freshman year at Ohio State when the Buckeyes won their most recent National Championship. But this highlight film shows many of the amazing runs and the incredible running ability of Clarett during that famous season. Clarett returned to Ohio State this week as a student when the schools second summer session began. With his prison time behind him, he hopes to complete his degree while fitting in well with the other students on campus.

In this short video from NLF.com, Jack Tatum is presented as the #6 most feared tackler of all time. The legendary Oakland Raider defensive back and Ohio State Buckeye passed away this week. Know as “the Assassin”, Tatum was known during his playing days by all for his hard hits and remembered for paralyzing receiver Darryl Stringley by some. In this short film he hits are referred to as being legal during the time but would be considered illegal today with the safety precautions that have been added.

Growing up in Central Ohio makes it hard to not be a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Eastmoor Safety Prospect Ron Tanner grew up wanting to play for the Buckeyes and this week he committed to be a member of the 2011 recruiting class. The 6’1” 190lbs safety is considered the 46th best safety prospect in the country by Rivals.com. He had almost 20 offers from schools such as Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan, NC State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. In this unique highlight video, Tanner shows his ability to read the pass, intercept the ball, and return interceptions for touchdowns.
