All-Purpose Back JK Dobbins And Buckeye Football

JK Dobbins

Most people are surprised that JK Dobbins, an all-purpose back from La Grange, TX, is signing up for Ohio State Buckeyes.

Many people expected the high school player to sign up for either Texas Longhorns or Oklahoma Sooners, but the 200 pound 5'10 player had other thoughts. Although signing up for Ohio Buckeyes comes as a surprise, JK Dobbins had earlier on hinted about making an early move. The turn of events was unlikely as the head coach had not approached him and the player has not even traveled to Columbus Ohio since his last trip in May last Year. It would make sense for JK Dobbins to commit to the Texas Longhorns because his home is only 60 miles from Austin. However, the process is in its early stages, and the Longhorns think they could steal him from the Buckeyes and use him for a prime running back position. Things are still good until the 2017 signing day comes, and the Longhorns may use this opportunity. Just like Jordan Elliot in 2016, things might turn out differently.

During spring break, coach Anthony Johnson may evaluate all running backs in La Grange, and he may just pick JK Dobbins. Apart from Houston's Toneil Carter, JK Dobbins is the only other high school player of 2017 class with an offer. With over 6000 rushes and 37 touchdowns in 3 years, it has earned him the 7th top high school player.
